Oceanside with the 'hoeks -- JULY 2011

We have "lots and lots" of pictures from our trip...
it was a really fun week!

We visited the Mormon Battalion Historic Site at Old Town San Diego on the 24th of July
It was so awesome!

These pictures were taken at the end...sifting for gold!

Alexa thought the gold was pretty neat
Happy Pioneer Day from the Shelleys :)
The beach...ya, ya!
Karli and cousin Noah
one of our favorite games...
the golf ball game!
The kiddos rarely got sick of playing in the sand
Our shirt logo for this year

The first time Alexa got in the beach water, she screamed...
but it didn't take long until she was riding the waves :)
My two youngest sisters and myself

Alexa was busy playing with her cousin Mika
pretty much the whole time...
we definitely didn't see as much of her as we are used to.
They are such good little friends
There were SO MANY sand crabs...
all kinds of sizes...
the kids loved collecting them

our cute
"SMILEY RILEE"
kids movie night

Alexa found this flower on our walk to the beach...
asked for a little photo shoot to see what it looked like in her hair :)
She is so fun...look at the posing!
and Karli's getting her groove on...
she has the funniest dancing that she does lately

Me look'n good at the beach...oh dear...
My handsome hubby
...getting attacked by some kind of shark there...

Sad story.
My dad was so excited to grill up some steaks for everyone the last night we were there
...well...during the prayer, we hear my brother Kevin whisper "Dad, fire..."
the BBQ was on fire!  All the food was ruined :(
We had hot dogs instead.
We stayed at a hotel on our way headed home...
we had a fun little sleepover :)
We also made a stop at the St. George Temple on our way home.
It was a much needed break.
It was nice walking around the grounds and the visitors center.
I LOVE the St. George temple, it has always been one of my favs.

I love Rilee's face in this one :)

dancing, dancing, dancing

Karli's big week and boating pics

Our little Karli had quite the week in mid July!
First, She decided <finally> that she would try the potty thing!
Yippee!
She has been doing really well with it.
She loves wearing big girl undies and having a potty chart.
She is such a big girl, yeah!
Second, she had to get stitches the day before we left to California.
Bummer.
In a nutshell....
A big, hard, box with quite the sharp corner fell on her
while she was hanging on a shelf in a store at the mall :(
It was quite the ordeal.
We are definitely glad that one is over.
You can see the tape she has over the stitches right there on her forehead...

Also, just wanted to show some boating pics...
While my brother Dallas (pictured below) and his family was here, we took the boat out for a couple of hours...it was a lot of fun (boating AND having Dal and his family in Utah!)

Hopefully we can get out again this summer with Tyler...but the four of us (Alexa, Karli, Rilee, and I) really enjoyed it!

Sundance Cabin

We were lucky to spend some time up at
Tyler's grandparent's cabin again this year!
We love it so much!

Hiking to Stewart Falls
Kyle, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Mom Shelley, and us (Dad Shelley taking picture)

Aunt Kaitlyn was helping the girls with this fuzzy caterpillar she found,
they thought it was pretty cool!

Stewart falls was a little different this year with the big glacier that was all around the falls, the falls POURING down water, and the trail ruined by a past avalanche...
it was a bit strange standing on snow when it was so hot outside!
We had a blast nonetheless!

the girls had a lot of fun playing with their cousins Nathan and Jared

Sunday, getting back from church...
And, of course, we need to end the post with a beautiful little girlios!

enjoying June

Camping out in the "rUgGEd BaCkYArd" :) with Dad!
and roasting marshmallows for smores

Painting with water
(with cousin Jade)
...anything with water is fun in the HEAT that finally hit us this summer

Rilee has found her tongue!
Three months has definitely agreed with this little angel!
She is such a happy and content baby.
Rilee with cousin Isaac
Our three cuties

I turned 28
...and it doesn't seem to feel any different from 27!
I had a great day!
My hubby and kids made me a fun poster
The girls and I celebrated the day away
...painting a clubhouse out of a giant box, painting our toes, singing and having a good time :)
And then Tyler took me out to dinner.
What a perfect day.
I have a great life.

blowing bubbles...lots of bubbles

playing in the sprinklers
...a favorite thing to do in the evenings when the sprinklers go off...

And Tyler picking strawberries.
We've loved our strawberries this year!

Lots and lots of SWIMMING!
We went up to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple
one Sunday before church...
It was a beautiful morning!
